Today we focused on constructing a strong literary argument paragraph about Wild and whether discomfort is necessary for meaningful personal growth. After working through the claim-evidence-analysis structure, explain which part of the paragraph was most challenging for you and why. Do you find it more difficult to create an arguable claim or to move beyond summary in your analysis?

Prompt Response:  The most challenging part for me was the analysis. It was easier to find evidence from Wild but it was harder to explain how the evidence supported my claim.Sometimes I catch myself repeating what happened instead of explaining why it matters.Creating a claim was not as difficult because I already had an idea about my topic.I find it more difficult to move beyond summary in your analysis Summary: Today in class we worked on a worksheet about literacy argument on the book Wild. Reflection:  Today was a quick and easy chill day in class.

Reflect on your experiences with essay writing. What aspects of writing essays do you find most engaging or challenging? Discuss your personal strengths as a writer as well as specific areas where you experience difficulty or would like to improve. Support your reflection with clear examples from your own writing experiences.

Prompt Response:  Writing essays can be both interesting and a challenge for me.I like coming up with my own ideas and organizing them into clear paragraphs. One of my strengths as a writer is explaining my ideas and supporting them with examples. For example when I'm writing for any English class I like to research my topic and find evidence that support my main idea.Sometimes I struggle with writing strong introduction and making my writing sound good. One example is I sometimes repeat similar ideas in different paragraphs or use a word too many times.I want to improve by practicing more time editing my essays before I turn them in Summary: Today in class we read some of chapter 16 of Wild and then did a worksheet where we filled in sentences ourselves about what we read. Reflection:  Today was a quick and easy day.

The process of creating the digital poster

Prompt Response:  The process of the digital poster was not hard but it was a pretty easy and quick project. To complete the poster all of the metaphors and similes needed to be done first to be able to put any pictures.I did create template first then add all the pictures.I made sure to put everything that was required and made sure all metaphors and similes were on one side, Summary: Today in class we kept working on our digital posters. Reflection:  Today was a quiet and easy going class period.

Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).

Prompt Response:  Being underestimated was the most challenging topic for me because it was hard to put my feelings into strong figurative language without sounding too simple or too dramatic. To work through this I thought about real situations where people doubted me and compared that feeling to things like being pushed down but still rising up.Next time I would take more time to brainstorm. Summary: Today in class we started on a digital poster on Abode express and used our simile and metaphors from Tuesday and put pictures that represent what we wrote on our worksheet. Reflection:  Today was a long but easy class period.

Today you created similes and metaphors that reflect your struggles, growth, and resilience. In a well-developed paragraph, reflect on the process. What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language?

Prompt Response:  While writing the similes and metaphors i learned more about how i view challenges and personal growth.I realized that i tend to see struggle as things that help me become stronger rather than things that define me.Thinking about resilience helped me understand that pressure and self-doubt are sometimes part of improvement. The process also showed me that I like using creative language to express my emotions and experiences.Over all I learned that my growth often comes from pushing through challenges I face. Summary: Today in class we wrote 6 similes and 6 metaphors that  reflected our struggle, growth, identity, and resilience. Reflection:  Today was a good day in class and I loved how we got to express ourselves and our situations on the worksheet.

Describe how you spent your time, any activities, traditions, travel, hobbies, or moments that stood out to you. You may also discuss something new you tried, something you learned, or how the break helped you reset before returning to school. Keep your response appropriate for a school setting and focus on experiences you are comfortable sharing publicly

Prompt Response:  During my break I mostly relaxed and spent time with my family and friends.I went out to eat, watched movies, and enjoyed not worrying about school for a while. The break helped me rest mentally, catch up on sleep, and feel more prepared to come back focused and ready. Summary: Today in class we read "Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou and identified six similes and six metaphors. Reflection:  Today was an easy day in class.

If you had to describe how you show love using only three objects (for example: a playlist, a hoodie, a late-night snack, a long text message, etc.), what would you choose and why? Explain what each object represents and how it connects to your personality.

Prompt Response:  If I had to show I how I show love with 3 objects I would choose a long text, gifts, and a playlist. A playlist because it shows how I connect through music. When I make someone a playlist it means that those certain songs remind me of them or I'm trying to say something through the song.It shows I'm thoughtful and pay attention to the memories and feelings. A long text message because it represents how I express my emotions through words.I like making sure people know how much they mean to me.It shows I care enough to be honest  about my feelings. Lastly I chose gift baskets because its how I pay attention to little details.I like giving gifts that remind me of them or what they like.It shows I listen, notice what they like, and put in thought into making them happy. Summary: Today in class the last group presented their interactive oral about the book Wild. Reflection:  Today was a calm and easy day.
