Recall a specific incident when someone’s words offended you. Describe what was said, how it made you feel, and what actions you took in response. Reflect on whether your response helped resolve the situation or changed how you think about communication.

Prompt Response: I remember a time in high school when someone I thought was my friend called me a slut in front of me and my friends. They said it was a joke, but to me it didn't feel funny. Later, I told them privately that the word offended me and wasnt funny to me. They apologized, and it made me realize how powerful words can be. Speaking up helped me feel better and taught me to be more careful with my own words.

Summary: Today in class, we listed 3 words that offends us and read "Incident" by Countee Cullen.

Reflection: I learned that words can be powerful.
