When Celie says, “The God I been praying and writing to is a man. And act just like all the other mens I know,” she expresses disappointment, betrayal, and disillusionment. Discuss a moment in your own life when something you believed in turned out to be different than what you imagined. How did this realization shape your identity or worldview?

Prompt Response: When I was younger, I believed that friendships were supposed to last forever and that if someone was your friend, they would be loyal to you. As I got older, I experienced different situations where friends changed, grew distant, or even chose others over me. It hurt because it made me question what real friendship meant. That realization changed how I see people now. I learned that not everyone is meant to be in your life, and that's totally okay. It helped me value healthy, honest, and taught me to protect my peace.

Summary: Today, we read to ourselves and make our own found poem.

Reflection: Today was a great and easy day.
